The Homeworld IP Is Seeing a Resurgence with the Remastered Collection and Homeworld: Shipbreakers

So several months ago, I saw this video:




thought it too good to be true and didn't pay it any heed. I was thinking it wouldn't disappoint me if the project crashed and burned but I didn't emotionally invest in it.




Now however, with Gearbox just having release the Homeworld: Remastered Collection on Steam, I viewed the video again and holy @$^@# it just dawned on me: is the game going to take place before the very first Homeworld game? Because the wreck---even the way it juts out from the desert---looks like the derelict the Hiigarans dug out from the dunes and so paved the way to make interstellar flight possible for their race.

UPDATE: I googled for Homeworld: Shipbreakers and yes, it turns out that it is indeed a prequel! WOOT!
